She notes that good candidates for a mommy makeover are typically women who have stopped breast-feeding, do not plan on having additional children, and are maintaining a stable body weight. In addition, Dr. Bayati says that mothers who still have small children may want to schedule their mommy makeover for a time when they can have some extra help with day-to-day activities and childcare.
As with most surgeries, Dr. Bayati says it takes some time – often several weeks – to fully recover from a mommy makeover; however, the length of recovery will depend on a number of factors for each individual. These include the types of treatments involved in the customized mommy makeover and whether the procedure is performed in one operation or staged over a series of appointments. Dr. Bayati says, once patients come in for the initial consultation and the treatment options have been determined, she is able to give them a more concrete idea of what to expect during recovery.
