What is an Arm Lift?
Excess skin under the arms is a rather common problem. It can result from changes in the skin due to aging or weight loss. Regardless, liposuction alone will not address this problem. The excess skin can be excised through a well-hidden incision that extends from the axilla to the elbow under the arm. This incision typically fades nicely over the following year with proper care and occasional laser fading. That is exactly what an arm lift is.
Sometimes, when there is excess fat combined with excess skin, it is necessary to perform liposuction separately or in combination with this procedure.
Most people combine this procedure with other skin-reduction surgeries. You can expect to return to work after this surgery in one week; however, a discreet compression garment will be worn under your clothes for a couple of weeks to reduce swelling and support healing.
