If Renuvion® is performed on its own at a Newport Beach office rather than combined with liposuction, it may require only a local anesthetic applied to the treatment area, rather than general anesthesia. Small incisions are made in the targeted areas, and the handheld Renuvion® device is delicately inserted beneath the skin. The device emits helium plasma and radiofrequency energy, which heats the tissues and controls their temperature, causing them to contract and tighten. Additionally, the process can stimulate the skin’s natural healing abilities, allowing it to produce new collagen and elastin, which can further enhance the results over time.
It is important to note that if Renuvion® is performed in tandem with liposuction, general anesthesia will likely be necessary, as liposuction is a more invasive surgical technique.
Renuvion® is typically performed on an outpatient basis. The duration of the procedure depends on the extent of treatment and the number of areas included in the treatment plan. The recovery process resulting from this procedure can vary significantly among patients. Some individuals may need only a few days or less to resume work and other daily activities, while others may need a bit more time. Dr. Bayati can provide more precise guidelines for recovery once your needs have been evaluated.
