A recent patient of Dr. Bayati’s was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29. She first discovered a lump in one of her breasts when she conducted a self-examination at home due to some soreness in the area. Following a mammogram and an ultrasound, her doctor ordered a biopsy, which tested positive for breast cancer. A little over two weeks later, she underwent a double nipple sparing mastectomy and breast reconstruction.
Following her initial diagnosis, she consulted two general surgeons for her mastectomy, and both recommended Orange County board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Bayati for the breast reconstruction. While she scheduled a second appointment with another plastic surgeon, she says she instantly connected with Dr. Bayati, and adds that choosing her was the easiest decision she had to make: “Her strong and positive persona is something I will forever be grateful for in this journey because she helped ease many of my apprehensions and fears.”
Dr. Bayati’s patient says the initial diagnosis was overwhelming and affected her confidence and body image.
